DIY Try: Dr. Whitney Bowe's Avocado Face Mask

According to Dermatologist Dr. Whitney Bowe, avocados are rich in antioxidants and and fatty acids that reduce wrinkles and hydrate skin. Below is her recipe for a DIY Avocado Face Mask.

1.       Combine ½ avocado and 2 tsp honey, and mash until the consistency is like a paste
2.       Spread a light coat over your face and neck
3.       Leave for 10 minutes and then wash off using warm water

DIY Try: Edible Moisture Mask

Keeping your skin moisturized is essential, and, contrary to popular belief, can be done without spending bundles on creams and gels. Thanks to anti-aging experts Michele Periquet and Firouze Zeroual, we have a recipe for the perfect summer moisture that can also make a tasty treat.
EDIBLE MOISTURE MASK
What you need:
1 tablespoon milled chia
1 tablespoon raw honey
1/2 avocado, pitted and mashed
Instructions
1. In a small bowl, mix ingredients together into a paste.
2. Apply to freshly cleansed skin and let it sit for 15-30 minutes.
3. Remove gently with warm water and a washcloth.
Note: You can find milled chia at a health food store or you can grind chia seeds at home using a food processor or a coffee mill until you get a coarse flour-like texture.

Review: Coast to Coast Ultra Soothing White Clay Mask

My goal is to build an arsenal of skincare products that work for me- keeping my skin looking hydrated and youthful. I have officially added this gem to the collection. This Ultra Soothing White Clay Mask with Wild Rosella & Organic Aloe from the Coast to Coast Coastal Collection is amazing! Coast to Coast is an extensive skincare line from Australia whose Coastal, Rainforest, and Outback collections have products for all skin types. The mask is thick, so a little dab will do you. Don't go overboard as I clearly did in the above photo.
The instructions are that you keep the mask on for 10 minutes. After applying it, I could feel my pores opening which, honestly, freaked me out at first. However, that stopped about a minute in, and after I rinsed my face, my skin felt incredibly smooth and my complexion looked brighter. Even with the scrubs I've tried, they didn't make my complexion look as bright and healthy as this product after the first wash. I have decided that this will be my once a month skin treat:)
