Must-Eat Summer Yummies!

It is no secret that I am a heavy snacker. I would go as far as to say that I am serious about my snacks, which are usually as unhealthy as they come. We are talking about sodium-packed chips and high fructose candy. As silly as it may sound, I did not think that a healthy snack could taste good. Then I was introduced to these delectable goodies.
Pistachio Chewy Bites are a yummy collaboration of pistachios and cranberries. It has healthy fat and proteins, but perhaps most importantly, it tastes really good. It satisfied the craving that I have in the middle of the day for something sweet and the great part is is that, after eating it, I didn't feel gross.

"Gluten-free" is one of those buzz phrases that health-conscious people are always using. I am not completely sure why gluten is so horrible, outside of the allergies that some people have in regards to it, but for some reason, I just didn't think a cookie should be without it. I was sooo wrong! I really couldn't taste the difference between a Simply Shari's Gluten Free Cookie a the fatty cookies I get from the store. They come in five flavors ( I love the shortbread) and they are tiny bites of sweet joy.

Learn more about these snacks at Simply Shari's Gluten Free Cookies and Pistachio Chewy Bites here.

Giving Me Life 3: Mary's Gone Crackers

Before you even say anything yes, I am well aware that this is my second "Giving Me Life" on cookies. Yes, I LOVE cookies! I feel the same way about cookies that most people feel about fine wine. They are the best snack ever but, of course, not the healthiest. That's why I was both excited and skeptical when I was forwarded information on Mary's Gone Crackers. Mary's makes all types of snacks- cracker, cookies, pretzels, and they are all organic and gluten-free. I didn't know what to expect. I can see a cookie being organic, but gluten-free?! How would that work? But let me just say, these cookies are amazing! They are chewy, they are sweet. And I dare say that they taste better than the full of crap cookies that I keep in my purse. My favorite are the ginger snaps, but they are all tasty. I'd offer you one of mine but they are all gone.

Giving Me LIfe 2: Numi Savory Collection Gift Box

I am a tea drinker with a sweet tooth for cookies that you would not believe! With that being said, you can understand why I was so excited when Carla Hall Petite Cookies joined forces with Numi Tea for the Numi Savory Collection Gift Box. You may remember Carla Hall from her stint on Top Chef and for me, it made sense for her to collaborate with Numi. They both have the most interesting flavors, like Hall's Lemon Black Pepper Shortbread cookies and Numi's Rooibos Chai. But together, they are magic x 10! Try them together or alone, but you MUST try them.

Grown

I pay my own bills. I have now gone on my first date. I am officially too old to be on The Real Word. I almost had sex. I can vote. I mean, the evidence is never ending that I am grown. So why, why, oh why does my mother still talk to me like I am 5 1/2?
Yesterday, while visiting her, she bought a package of cookies and like a fool, I attempted to go back to the pack for seconds and she grunts all loud and scrunches up her face. So I'm like, "Uggh!" That was all that was needed for her to spring into a 40-second attack.
She just started going on and on about how she is tired of not being able to say anything to me and she is tired of my attitude and blah, blah, blah. I just wanted to raise my hand and be like, "Pardon me madame...I'M GROWN! I'll get another cookie if I want another cookie!"
But of course, I didn't say that. You have to respect your parents, even when they are being nuts. Plus, I may be grown, but not too grown to get my ass whooped.
