Bald

It is that time of year again when I seriously consider shaving my head.

Even typing this seems like a betrayal of the hair gods because it took so long for my hair to grow. However, sometimes I just get the urge to chop it all off, down to the scalp, which is funny, because one of my most traumatic experiences as a kid was a hair stylist telling me that I needed to cut my hair to a fade and start over again after a series of bad home relaxers.

This girl, with whom I went to college, cut her hair all the way off. She is now totally bald and wears her makeup super pretty. If social media is telling the truth, it looks like she spends her spare time going to cocktail parties and dancing with her husband. With my luck, I will cut off all my hair and still be unmotivated, taking to the bed. I am also afraid that I have hotdog neck, and that can't be hidden if I shave my head.

Truth be told, my hair is now one of my better qualities, and it has been a struggle getting here. I think that my desire to shave it sometimes comes from my desire for something new. What is newer than going bald? I don't know, just something to think about.

Get Your Twist on with Jane Carter Solution Curl Defining Cream

I have used a lot of products to twist my hair in the past. A few of my favorites have been the Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In Conditioning Repair Cream, the Fro Butter with Peppermint Oil, and the All Natural Pudding Souffle from EDEN BodyWorks. However, my latest favorite product for twisting is the Jane Carter Curl Defining Cream.
I have read a lot of blog posts on Jane Carter Solution over the years, and they have a lot of fans that are in love with the products because they are 98% natural. I am a new fan of the Curl Defining Cream because it is light and it does not leave a residue on your hair. It also plays nice with other products because the cream is so light and it absorbs into the hair. I feel that this is great for spring and summer, because there is nothing worse than using a heavy product in the summer. And because it is absorbent, you don't have to worry about product dripping which we all can agree is not sexy.
Because the product is a curl defining cream, I find that my curls are very defined once I take my hair down, which helps my look last a little longer than usual. All us naturals know that that is greatly appreciated!

Yay is for Organics

There are so many trends in natural hair care that I can hardly keep up! I fall somewhere in between those naturalistas that use a million products a day, and those that use actual food like eggs and mayonnaise to maintain their 'fros. But I have always been excited about the amazing reports of those naturals that only use organic products. I never did because I assumed that organic hair products, much like organic food, would be too expensive. Then I was sent the Aubrey Organics Biotin Repair products.
For me, the star of the trio, which includes a shampoo, conditioner, and scalp tonic, is the conditioner. It is no secret that conditioner is super important for those of us with natural hair for repair and hydration and so on and so on. I leave my conditioner in to aid in finger detangling my hair, then I rinse it out. But after applying the Aubrey Organics Biotin Repair Condition, I could feel my hair detangling on its own while I was still in the shower! Not possible right? WRONG! The conditioner made my hair feel really light and made detangling really, really easy.
My amazing experience with Aubrey makes me wonder what else the brand and other organic brands have to offer. To be continued:)
