About four years ago I had a situation with my old roommate Lucy. And by situation, I mean that she skipped out on the lease, owing me a little over $1000. That is a lot of money for a girl like me, who was clipping coupons to buy canned goods. Like all people who owe you money, she said that she would pay me back when she got her tax money. Yep, I fell for that story hook, line, and sinker. She ended up getting her money, but it wasn't what she'd expected so she couldn't pay me back but she promised she would. Not long after that, she fell off of social media and her number stopped working. And, not long after that, I lost my apartment. It was really a nightmare. But I always wondered what happened to my old roomie Lucy. A part of me wanted to catch up with her and, of course, get my money!
Fast forward to the other day. Tasia told me that I needed to visit an adult site called LadyCheeky.com. She said it was a collection of pics and GIFs from Tumblr. "It's a porn site for women," she informed me. "The pictures aren't offensive." A porn site that wasn' offensive? This I had to see. Needless to say, what I saw as soon as I got to the site was a topless picture of Lucy sitting on a couch.
I had to have stared at the picture for ten minutes, confused. For one, I couldn't be sure if it was her. In reality, this girl looked like a prettier version of Lucy. If this was not Lucy, it was definitely her twin.
"Is this Lucy?" I asked my brother. He'd stayed with us for a summer before he went back to school.
He stared at the picture for about a minute before hesitantly saying, "I don't think so...no, that's not her. Lucy wasn't that proportionate."
Proportionate? I looked at the pic again, now about 10% more sure that this was her. Like this girl, Lucy had huge breasts and short brown hair. On top of that, once she'd told me that she had experimented with being a cam girl but she didn't make any money. Maybe nude modeling was the next step.
"Is this Lucy?" I asked our mutual friend, Sugar, over video chat. I put the picture on my phone up to my computer's camera.
"Mmmm, I don't know. She looks familiar, but I can't really remember what she looks like."
Ugh! I was kicking myself. How do you forget how someone who owes you a grand looks like?
"I think this is her," I told her. "Now that she is an adult star, she can pay me my $1000."
Sugar laughed. "You may get $40. I don't think pink nipples are in. Maybe next week. Not today." Then she said, "You can always put the pic in Google like they do on Catfish."
I had thought about that, but a part of me was scared to do that. My life hadn't been a fairytale since I lost my apartment, but I hadn't had to turn to porn! How sad!
The site I saw her on doesn't say who is in the picture, and it has been reposted so many times I have no idea how to find out who originally posted it. I just hope that she isn't being forced to take these pics and that she is being paid more than $1000.

Blame Game
There is an annoying habit being practiced in the house. It's called "Let's Blame Holly for Shit!"
Just a second ago, Connie busted in the room and tells me not to sit in her dining room chair anymore because there is a stain on it. I'm assuming since I am being blamed she is accusing me of staining her chair. OK. So I am like, "Ok." She now has exiled me to the kitchen, where she also wants me to eat because, apparently, I stain things.
Then there is Jimmy, the cat. The outdoor house cat. She tells me today not to let Jimmy in because he pulled down the drapes. I didn't bring him in in the first place!
I hate being regulated like this, but I have known Connie since I was in middle school. I knew it would be like this. I mean, overall, living with her is cool. But it is her house. The rules and regs just remind me of how homeless I am. This is not my house. Sigh. It was nice of her to allow me to stay here, but that's just it: I'm just staying here. I miss the feeling of home, you know? But I wonder, even if I had my own house, would it feel like home to me since my family wouldn't live there with me? I don't know. I am just trying not to be sad over it.

The Revival
OK, Operation Hateration is back in effect. I can't go into detail. I have reason to believe that my blog is being monitored by people that are not supportive of my cause. I have WASTED time I can't get back, thinking that this would blow over. After light observation, it is clear that neither party will do as planned and ruin this on their own, thus outside interference is needed. As usual, I will keep you posted of my progress.

Termination
Taji wanted me to investigate how Connie felt about him. He wouldn't have asked if he lived with us. She has been grinning from ear to ear since he came to visit. So I asked her on a scale of 1 to 10 how she felt about him and she said an 11. Operation Hateration officially terminated until further notice.

Hater Reform
This morning I casually asked Connie about Taji. She REALLY likes him. So now I feel bad for being a hater. Seeing them standing next to each other, they are a really cute, short couple. I mean, why was I trippin'? Taji is a good guy. A really good guy.
We will see where it goes, even though it feels weird. As for now, Operation Hateration is suspended.

Grunt and Eye Roll
I can not find my keys.
The party was a bust.
My feet hurt.
So I return home to find Taji greeting me at my door.
Grunt. Eye Roll.
I come into my room and kick off my shoes, just for him to tell me I was not gone long. Apparently, I was not gone long enough for his taste. Apparently, two and a half hours is not long enough to bang my roommate and piss your territory.
Am I mad at Taji? No. He is one of my best male besties. I am mad at myself for thinking I would be cool with this. I get highly uncomfortable when a man, friend or foe, is in my space. And sure, he is in Connie's room, but it doesn't matter, because it's still the house I am living in for the time being.
It is one something in the morning. He still is not gone. I am sitting here, earphones in, listening to the love below on high, wishing upon a star that he is gone when I wake up. If not, I'm sorry, but I think that I will have to begin Operation Hateration. I hope it doesn't come to that.

Lit Like A Connie
A couple of minutes ago Connie came in laughing. She walked in the door and hit the floor...drunk. I helped her up and tucked her into bed before she emerged mere seconds later in her underwear to go to the bathroom...still laughing.
So, I tucked her back in and got her a bottle of water. I watched her do a drunken search of her purse, making sure that she had all her money. But of course, her phone was missing.
So, she gives me the keys to go check her car for her phone. Apparently, I took to long, because she snatched the keys and ran out to her car in her underwear. Seconds later, she came bursting back into the house, phone in hand, and I pushed her back to her room.
Now, as I type, I can hear her puking in the bathroom. This is going to be a long night, lol.

Gregory Hines
There is a rodent in our house, and we have no idea what it is. All we know is that when Jimmy, our cat, comes in the house, he goes bananas. The only evidence is that he has our chewed through cabinet foods and in in love with Jimmy's catnip. We woke up one morning and it was all over the kitchen floor.
I have named this rodent Gregory Hines. I think that he lives in the attic, because I can hear him upstairs over my room tap dancing the night away. I wish you could have been here the other night. It sounded like he was auditioning for Stomp with all his shuffling around!
I am just praying it is a little mouse or squirrel or ever raccoon, but not a rat. Rats give me the heebies!! The. Heebies. They are nasty, and ever since that gross rat character on Captain Planet, they have scared the daylights out of me!
Today I have to call an exterminator to get a quote. I am already rolling my eyes. Once he sees that three women live here, he will probably tell us that a bloodthirsty bear lives in the attic just to scare us and get us to pay some crazy fee. And of course, we will pay it. Gregory can stay in the kitchen and the attic. None of us want him in our rooms!

Ring the Alarm!
I am not the easiest person to live with I am sure. I talk really loud on the phone, I use way too much toilet tissue, and if I am broke, I guarantee you that I will eat your food out of the fridge. I just will.
But one of my roommates has this cell phone alarm that goes off every three minutes! I wish I was exaggerating! And it is loud as hell! When it goes off, I wake up each time! I feel like it is in my room!
I'm assuming that she doesn't want to oversleep and be late for work, which I understand. But man, put it on vibrate and lay on it! I assure you, you will wake up!
Ok, that was all.

Power Struggle
Last night, Connie banged on the door for me to turn off the light in my room and this morning she just straight up walked in here and turned it off. What is the deal? She wants the power bill to be lower, so she is policing the power.
Clearly, I understand the issue. Who wants a huge power bill? But the thing is that I feel like I am the only one being policed! When she goes to work for her SIX to EIGHT HOUR shifts, she leaves the TV on in her room. Cinnamon sleeps DAILY with her light on, and the window light in the kitchen typically stays on 24/7!
Like I said, I understand the issue, I just don't get why I am working by candlelight while the rest of the house is lit like a candle!
Not cool dude.

Ugh
I got my closet together last night, so now I feel like there is an ounce of rhyme and reason in my life. Now all that is left is getting a bed. Sleeping on the floor has me so swollen that my ankles look like cinder blocks and my feet look like footballs.
Yesterday my roommate accused me of leaving the door unlocked when I didn't. This came on the heels of a verbal listing of house rules and regulations. My key broke in the lock, now I have to buy a new one. I was also accused, via text, that I am not considering the safety of everyone in the house and that I am not clean because I accidentally left a piece of orange peel on the floor. I'm not sure if one of my roomies is a sleepwalker or in some type of marijuana-induced haze. She wanders around the house at night aimlessly as I watch from my door.
This is going to be very...different.

First Night
Today I woke up at my new place, where I am rooming with a friend, and sighed. I felt thankful to have somewhere to live, but odd. The house isn't mine. The room isn't really mine. I thought that I would feel different now that I am all moved in, but I don't. I still feel homeless. Maybe when I get my room all arranged...but I doubt it. I hate this feeling of being in limbo! But the thing is, I don't think that I would feel any different if I had my own place. I seem to only feel complete around my family (my mom and aunt and siblings that is, not uncle asshole and the crew), even though I have spent the past three years since graduation trying to escape them. Sigh.
