So Tuesday was just one of those traumatic days. I was supposed to go to a Miss Jessie's Product Launch but I had computer drama that left me in tears. I swear, nothing has made me cry over the years like my computer and my phone. Any way, the issue was resolved, and I was able to make it to the Gap and Styld.by event at Lenox Mall, hosted by Arkeedah McCormick of ItsArkeedah, to see their  latest collection. It's very early 80s, so of course, it was fun. It will be a  cold day in fat girl fashion hell before you catch me in those shorts that look like blue jean panties, but again, the looks were fun. There were a lot of trendy sisters in the house, and as you know, nothing makes me smile like trends. Plus, they had food and cocktails.
As I was leaving the event, I also ran into my old college roommate Leslie Topps, PR and songwriting extraordinaire. All an all, I am glad my computer got over its PMS so I could feel comfy leaving the house without it shutting down:)

The Job Post

I think it is time for me to apologize to my loyals for the late and halfsie posts. I had been under the weather. I found myself, in the middle of March, minus a job and about to go into my new lease. Needless to say, I had to up my hustle as to prevent my new house from being made of cardboard. It is May and I have emerged from my depression cocoon with a new gig an a new outlook on life. Again, sorry ya'll. Your girl needed a minute, but I'm back now:)

Late Post: Easter Niece

As you all know, I very recently met my sisters on my dad's side, which also came with me meeting my niece Raylee. And true enough, I didn't meet her mom, my sister, until recently, but it obviously that we are related. I mean, check her BGesque swag! How many 1 year olds do you know that wear pearls? Also, she is wearing the Easter dress I got her for her birthday. Adorable right! This pic almost makes me want a daughter...until I wake up screaming, lol!

Last Saturday in Pics

Last Saturday

Last Saturday I woke up in the worst mood ever. I was hella sad and felt really, really rejected. It was one of those days where you call everyone you know and no one wants to talk. And I realized by 10 am that if I didn't get up and leave my apartment, I was just going to cry all day and watch Netflix and I didn't want that to be an option. So I got dressed up really cute and left my house.
I live in a very small community, and that Saturday was its founder's day. There was food and entertainment and healthy screenings and clowns. I did a walk through just to see what it was all about. Those types of things aren't really my scene, but I did pick up on a lot of positive energy from the crowd.
From there, I got on the train to go to Atlantic Station. A 22-year-old boy said I was cute, had the day off, and wanted to come with me. So we had a picnic on the grass and talked. It was really nice. He was really nice. And the day was amazing! The sun was out and I got to watch kids do back flips and play on the grass. It was really nice, all of it. And not to over use the word, but nice in the best way possible.
After he left, like just as he was leaving, I ran into Renee, a girl I know from her previous work at a local magazine. We talked about everything, from summer dresses to her run in with Mizz Twerk Sum, one half of the Twerk Team. I was in awe. You know I LOVE the Twerk Team!
On the way home, I thought about how quickly things can change if you put forth the effort. Just a few hours earlier I'd been crying and feeling horrible. Fran said she was impressed with my ability to need community and seek it our affectively. Oh Fran.

XULA HAPPY

With  all the changes that have happened at Xavier University, I for one am still happy
to see that the kids are still goofy.
