Lauren Cohen Makes The Cover of Women's Health

If you are a Walking Dead fan as I am then you already know who Lauren Cohen is. She is the actress that plays the character of Maggie on the hot, AMC series. She is on the latest cover of Women's Health. Below are some tidbits from her interview:

On if she anticipated the success of the Walking Dead:
I didn’t really have time to think about whether I thought it was going to be big, I was just so happy with the show and being on the show and the people that I work with. It’s funny you sort of come out of our little vacuum of filming and you realize how popular it is. It’s popularity makes since to be because it’s such a loving environment and I would hope that would perpetuate in the world, in life. But no, I never anticipated it being that big.

On if she thought she’d play a zombie:
I never really thought that I’d end up doing supernatural genres. I’ve always gravitated to supernatural things and I enjoy it, but when I started acting I enjoyed comedy and that’s what I thought I’d end up doing – just action, screwball comedy is what I’ve always wanted to do. It’s fun to do something like Walking Dead and now I have all the time in the world to do all of the other things. This has been such a rare experiences and such a special experience. I mean I want to do everything. Literally I want to do musicals, play a jazz singer, I want to somehow emulate Kevin Kline and Tilda Swinton.

On the actor she admires most:
Tilda Swinton I’ve always just thought is so brave and so inspiring – trailblazing. She doesn’t follow any rules and it doesn’t seem that she adheres to anything in life but what her heart and soul tell her to do. I think that’s just always what I’d like to check in with every day -- that that’s how I’m conducting myself and conducting my life.

PeaceLoveShea x Steve Madden

Shea Marie is a fashion influencer, designer, and editor of PeaceLoveShea.com. She has collaborated with major brands such as Guess, Armani, and Jimmy Choo. Her latest collabo with Steve Madden has everyone talking. Here she talks about the collection and what she has conk v up next in here career.

Q: How were you approached about collaborating with Steve Madden.
A: received an email from someone at the PR team at Steve Madden and they invited me in for a meeting to "meet the team". I was in shock with Steve was in the meeting. I wasn't sure if it was actually him at first. I was thinking is this THE actual "Steve"? Because he was so laid back and approachable. They were like "we have this idea?" and I was like "Tell me more..." The project was really love at first sight, sometimes you just have that creative connection where you know “this is going to be great.”

Q: What was your inspiration behind the collection?
A: really wanted to design something that would represent my personal style and the type of woman I stand for- strong, sexy and independent. For the girl who knows you can make an outfit come to life with just a killer pair of shoes. I asked myself, “If I could have any dream shoe in the world what would it look like?” and through this collaboration I was able to make them come to life.

Q: What is your favorite pair of shoes in the collection?
A: The Venice boot! It's a lace up bootie with open peep toe. Sexy, edgy and fun!

Q: Do you have any other collaborations in the works?
A: Yes I'm currently working on my own line with my best friend Caroline, she's the great grand-daughter of the iconic Diana Vreeland so you know that between the two of us it's going to be epic. We can't say too much about it yet- but it's on the horizon.

Q: What would you say is the key to being a successful blogger in a climate where there are so many?
A: Find something that stands out and never give up! I worked on my site every day for a good 2 years before I ever really saw any recognition for it.

Vision Board Revamp

At the beginning if this year I declared that 2014 was going to be the best year ever for me. I was so motivated that I even made a vision board. Sadly, a lot of things happened this year that I had to handle that took me away from my vision.
So, last weekend, I revamped my board, adding additional things that I want to see happen in my life a long with friendly reminders to myself such as, "Don't share your dreams with everyone." In 2015, I would also like to see my creative work published and I would like to purchase a house or at least get a better apartment.
I'm excited to see my dreams unfold! Have you already started on next yesr's vision board or are you wrapping up your goals and assignments on the one for this year? Tag me your board on IG @.  hollsthegreat. I'd love to see yours vision:)

Giving Me Life 7: Way Better Snacks

As you all well know by now, I am a relentless snacker. So I decided earlier this year to begin looking for snacks that were better for me than the candy and fried junk I was used to. And yes, I found some tasty snacks, but many of them tasted as healthy as they were. This is not a good thing. Then, I was sent tortilla chips from Way Better Snacks. The name says it all! These chips are down right addictive and, made from sprouted whole grains and other simple ingredients, these chips are delish!
I love all of the flavors. Truly, there was not one that I didn't like! The Sweet Chili flavor actually tasted like Doritos, minus the heavy salt and flavoring, and the Multi-Grain flavor will put you in mind of a sun chip. But my favorite flavor was Sweet Potato. It had a soft, sweet taste mixed with light salting that actually made me sing a little while I ate them, lol! No, I'm not kidding.
If you are a hardcore snacker like me, I suggest that you try Way Better Snacks. Not only are they light and flavorful but, duh, theh are most likely way better for you than what you are eating now!  They have made a believer out of me!

Fun Times With Tasia

Have you ever had one of those days where it seemed like no one wanted anything to do with you? That was me a couple of Fridays ago. I was just sitting up in my room like Brandy and no one wanted to talk to me! I had to have called almost everyone I knew. I was really sad about it until I got a text from Tasia saying she would hang out with me the next day.
She scooped me up from my apartment in her infamous Volkswagen Beetle, Bumblebee, and she took me out for lunch and drinks. We chatted about her new job, dating, and just how we deal from day to day with the things that annoy us.
It was an awesome day, and I'm so happy she was there to rescue me from my life for a few hours. You need that from time to time, you know? Who is the Tasia in your life? Tag me in your bestie selfie on Instagram @hollsthegreat.
