Seeking Charles Christmas 5: Guy Of My Dreams

I know I told you all that I wrapped up my crush on Charles Christmas when I realized we would never be; that I put my love for him in a box and returned him to the world, and I had. But because of him, for the first time in a long time, I woke up with a smile.

I had a dream that I was on a city bus and Charles Christmas passed me a note expressing his love and desire to buy me nice things. Next thing I know, we are at the mall, and he is getting me expensive gifts. At some point, we end up at the MAC counter where I got a makeover. He then bought me as much lipstick as my arms could carry to the cash register. After that, we walked around the mall holding hands.

Like I said, I woke up smiling. My heart was full of love. The dream felt very real but I know it wasn't because sadly, there are not hundreds of tubes of MAC lipstick in my purse. I rolled over and went on Instagram to find a story from Charles, posted earlier today. He was at a yoga class. How cute is that?

I wonder what he'd say if he knew what I think of him? I'd like to believe he'd be flattered but in reality, I think he'd block me from all socials. I'm no dummy. I know he is out of the question for my real life. I guess he is quite literally the guy of my dreams.

My Fantasy Vanity with Arhaus

Arhaus recently asked me how I would decorate my dream vanity. Little did they know, I have been fantasizing about having a vanity since I was a kid hooked on soap operas and old movies. The leading lady always sat at a super gorgeous vanity in an equally as amazing silk gown. After visiting Arhaus.com, I now have an updated fantasy of what I want my dream vanity to look like.

First off, I would have to have this chair to sit in at my vanity. Not only is it plush and adorable, but I just know that I would feel so Dorothy Dandridge in it as I prepared to put on my face for the day. You can find it here under Chairs & Chaises.
Tasny 28'' Upholster Chair in Tibetan Ivory Sheepskin, $1,899

I would put all of my vanity goodies on a tray like this one on top of the vanity table, just for that extra touch of yassss! Here, I would place my matching comb, brush, and mirror set.

Pillar Tray, $99

On either side of my tray would be two of these glasses, each one holding my lip gloss, eyeliner, brushes, and mascaras. Cute, right?
Ribbon Blue Double Old-Fashioned Glasses (set of 4), $40

Closer to the mirror, I would place this vase and fill it to the brim with cotton balls and Q-Tips.
Aqua Glass Cube Vase, $9
To the far right of my cotton ball vase would be this vase that I would fill will fresh flowers every few days. The flowers would be from my fantasy garden, lol.

Daydreamin'

I would say that I spend a good 30% of my day daydreaming.
And anything can trigger me to zap into my little fantasy land- songs, sleepiness, some random noise.
In my fantasy land, oddly enough, I am a thin lady with Rihanna hair that does PR work for rappers; a woman that makes so much money that she has one of those bank money counters on her kitchen table in her downtown Atlanta loft apartment. I have dinner parties where Jill Scott does spoken word while Lauren Hill does backup vocals. I make all the food for these lavish parties, of course, draped in head-to-toe Chanel. I have a lap dog that I dress up like a baby. My "man" is just quiet eye candy that always stands at my side, and I have a really cool black car with butterfly doors that open when I clap my hands.
Sometimes I fantasize that I was not a complete dweeb/nerd in high school. I fantasize that I had actually had the balls to audition for the dance team. I dream that I dated some fine, nameless guy and everyone liked me.
I don't know how normal it is for folks to daydream. And I am no shrink, but I am guessing that I am daydreaming because I am not where I want to be in life. I am just concerned with the frequency in which I do it. I better get my life together before I completely lose touch with reality.
